Getting verified on LuxFlat Direct: documents and verification explained

Furnished Luxembourg apartment — verification article hero

Renting in Luxembourg normally means assembling a dossier for every apartment you apply to. On LuxFlat Direct you do it once. Two documents, verified within 24 hours, and your profile is ready to send requests to any listing.

That is the whole point of verification here. It is not a hurdle — it is what lets a landlord say yes quickly, because your paperwork has already been checked before they ever see your request. Here's exactly what to gather, on both sides.

What tenants need to submit

Two documents. Both required, both uploaded separately in your tenant portal.

Document 1
Identity document or passport
A valid ID card or passport. It must be current, not expired.
Document 2
Proof of income
Either recent payslips, or your employment or internship contract.

Interns, freelancers and new arrivals who haven't been paid yet can use the signed contract — you don't need a payment history to qualify.

Upload formats are PDF, JPG or PNG, up to 10 MB per file. You can add more than one file per category — several payslips, or both sides of an ID card — and there's an optional slot for supporting documents if you have something extra worth showing a landlord. Both required documents must be uploaded before you can submit for qualification; the portal confirms with a "Required documents complete" bar once you're there.

What landlords need to submit

Landlord verification is real and required. Properties don't go live without it.

Our team confirms which documents are needed for your property when we contact you, and checks that you are entitled to let it.

The process itself: you submit your property through the Publish property form with the essentials — address, size, furnishing, availability and monthly rent. Our team reviews the submission and gets in touch to complete verification and prepare your listing.

How long it takes and what happens after

Within 24 hours of submitting your documents.

That's the turnaround for tenant qualification. Once your documents are reviewed, your profile status changes to Qualified and you'll see the badge on your portal overview. After that:

1
Browse listings and send requests. Your approved dossier goes with each one.
2
Landlords review your profile, not your paperwork. Because you're already qualified, there's no back-and-forth asking for documents.
3
Track everything in the portal. Open requests and accepted requests each have their own counter on your overview screen.
4
Sign digitally once a landlord accepts.

If a request is declined, nothing resets. Your qualification stands and your documents stay verified — send the next request straight away, with no new uploads.

How your documents are kept secure

Your ID and payslips are sensitive, and they're treated that way.

Stored outside the public media library. Your files have no public URL, so they cannot be found by guessing a link.
Served only through authorised downloads. A file can only be retrieved by someone with permission to see it.
Access is logged. Every retrieval is recorded, so there's a record of who opened what.

You upload once. Landlords see your qualification status and your dossier when you send them a request, not before. How that consent works is set out in our privacy policy.
